The Pre New (Present Earl Brutus)

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

THE PRE NEW are a new formation featuring SHINYA HAYASHIDA, GORDON KING, STUART BOREMAN and JIM FRY; members of legendary groups EARL BRUTUS and WORLD OF TWIST.

They will make their live debut at Glastonbury Festival – headlining the Queens Head Stage on Saturday 26th of June at 11pm.

Is this an example of a group morphing into a tribute band/ karaoke version of themselves? Debatable,– they’re not a new band, but they’re not an old one either;
“Yes. We will be defiantly ‘Doing’ Earl Brutus that night at Glastonbury and we intend to ‘Do’ everybody who is present…. It’s the fitting way to start up the Pre New … But it would be impossible to be Earl Brutus since the death of our irreplaceable front man Nick Sanderson in June 2008 …that would just be wrong” states Jim Fry.
The Pre New will also play a version of World of Twist’s classic; ‘Sons of the Stage’ – which Fry describes as “a monument to our own fallen rock heroes Tony Ogden and Nick Sanderson”

Joined by drummer GEORGE PHILIPS, old time friend VINNY GIBSON and boys of guitar; LAURENCE BRAY and STUART WELDON, newly-minted material sits alongside the huge bold sounds of their former incarnations which will now gel into a reality-shredding spectacle.

Recent years have included death, life, jobs, and families, but this is old-style 21st century futurist concept–; “I hope The Pre New will resemble Concord” says Fry…” Sleek and beautiful, dangerously futuristic, ear splittingly loud, as it carries with it, its own destruction… because we now all know that wonderful things have to come to an end”

The Pre New at MACH 2, emblazoned with lightning flashes –will turn all
debris and decay into bright new forms of rock energy, with one foot in the past and the other flooring the accelerator into the eternal future.

THE FLOORS AN OCEAN AND THIS WAVE IS BREAKING
YOU ARE YOUR OWN REACTION
WE AE THE PRE NEW, THIS IS WHAT WE DO

THE PRE NEW make their live debut at Glastonbury Festival – headlining the Queens Head Stage on Saturday 26th of June at 11pm.

They are also playing at GLAMRACKET in Islington on Saturday JULY 3RD
and 1234 SHOREDITCH Festival on Saturday July 24th.
