Now back for it’s third year, THE1234 SHOREDITCH festival returns on Saturday 24th July in Shoreditch Park.

An unforgiving bombastic shout for the new music epicureans brought to you by legendary promoter Sean McLusky. THE1234 presents the best new underground music alongside inspirational international artists, set deep in the heart of London’s most creative and cultural quarter.

“THE1234’s strength is in it’s uncompromising lineup – it would rather book the bands it loves, than include a handful of names that tick unwanted boxes – that’s how it ends up with a bill you’ll not find anywhere else.”

Sean commented, “THE1234 presents a program that always includes ‘heard them here first’ bands plus a good chunk of ‘will never hear of again’ but always vastly entertaining whatever happens. We are only interested in the sheer audacity and bluster of the Rock & Roll beast, presenting it in a truthful and raw situation, then witnessing the unstoppable scene this creates. In the 60’s it was in Chelsea, the 70’s was Noting Hill, the 80’s was Soho, the 90’s was Camden and the in the 2000’s it is SHOREDITCH. The world now looks to East London for new music.”

THE1234 inaugural year saw performances from HAR MAR SUPERSTAR featuring FAB MORRETI from The Strokes, FLORENCE & THE MACHINE, LIGHT SPEED CHAMPION, THE WHIP, SHY CHILD, and last summer saw PATRICK WOOLF, THE RAKES, THE WARLOCKS, CRYSTAL FIGHTERS, HATCHAM SOCIAL, A PLACE TO BURY STARNGERS, CHROME HOOF and POLLY SCATTERGOOD play amongst many others that are still learning their craft and some that have just burned too brightly.

2010 sees a vastly improved festival set up, site infrastructure and production veering swiftly away from the (now claimed as intentional) ‘COLDITZ ‘ feel of last years production. The site will now provide; more stages, more tents, more music, more bars, more food, more stalls, more flashing lights, more entertainment, all on a Saturday at the incredible early bird ticket price of £15.
