So Black Ops Cold War is officially revealed, and we are now at this fateful stage in the hype train, where every year, we start trying to figure out what guns are going to be popping up in the new Call of Duty campaign, but mostly multiplayer and Warzone.
Well, lucky for you. I actually have some insight, some ideas on what we would possibly see in this year’s cut. So today, we are going to be digging deep into everything we know about the new game and how it points to certain weapons, both in the promotional material, the trailers, and everything.
So, drop a like if you’re excited for the reveal, and if it’s already come up, drop a like if you enjoyed it. Let me know what guns you want to see in Black Ops Cold War. And a lot of this information comes from a list from a friend of the channel, Elias, who likes to dig into various leaks and promos to see what they really mean.
He has uncovered a few weapons now in the Black Ops Cold War promo material. In a few leaks, there’s a handful of weapons that are all but confirmed. The M16 assault rifle, the SPAS-12 shotgun, the AK-47 assault rifle, the M1911 handgun, the Colt revolver handgun—those are all pretty much confirmed to be returning. It’s also worth mentioning, that a few months ago, that the pre-alpha gameplay was leaked and the weapon in that footage was a K2 assault rifle.
Now, all of these weapons would fit in with the Black Ops time period. The M16 was created in the 60s; the K2 and the SPAS-12, they were designed in the 70s. Yeah! Then, of course, the AK, and the 1911, and the Colt Revolver have been around since long before the Cold War even started. So, they make sense as well.
Also, I made a video not too long ago about how IW has been adding Black Ops AR weapons into Modern Warfare 2019. I mean, guns like the AN-94, the Galil, the rumors that the Stoner is actually coming, but it doesn’t stop there. The gunsmith blueprints also make it pretty clear in reference to previous versions of Modern Warfare guns. We have the Fractured Forces blueprint for the FR 5.56. Well, that looks a lot like the FAMAS. I mean, it does. The Smooth Dominator blueprint for the FAL looks like the FAL OSW.
You guys are getting the vibe I’m putting it out here. Now, we can predict quite a bit about Black Ops Cold War by looking at Warzone.
We know Warzone is going to carry on throughout the years. They’ve already confirmed that. The current leaks and rumors are saying that Warzone will get a new map themed around the new game. But the weapon pool is going to stay the same, although the devs will keep adding guns to it like they’ve done so far.
Now, there isn’t going to be a huge change in guns all at one time, but there is going to be more Black Ops themed stuff added, which explains why Infinity Ward has been amping up the amount of Treyarch guns that they’re adding to the mix. Like I said before, they just recently added the AN94 and the Galil, the Stoner is right around the corner.
So, if you ask me, this is a good way to handle it. Keep Warzone distinct from the main games by giving it its own weapon pool, but keep adding guns from both Modern Warfare and Black Ops into that mix as a way to keep hyping both games at once.
I think that it’s very likely we’re going to be seeing more and more Black Ops guns added to Warzone as the launch of Black Ops Cold War draws closer. Then, once the game comes out, well, I think there’s going to be a brand new map and a huge dump of new weapons again. Take all this with a grain of salt, because none of it’s confirmed. For all we know, Warzone may end up getting an entirely different weapon pool when COD 2020 comes out, but personally, I don’t that’s what’s gonna happen. I think it’s going to be much more of a Treyarch-slash-lnfinity-Ward collaboration, rather than a one-or-the-other type of deal.
So, what guns are coming to Black Ops Cold War? Well, as a little recap, we are almost guaranteed, almost for certain, that the M1911, the Colt revolver, the AK-47, the M16, the SPAS-12, and the K2, will be in there, making appearances.
I don’t know if that’s in campaign or multiplayer, or both. Then, if we use Warzone as a hint, it’s pretty likely we’ll also see the Galil, the Stoner 63, and possibly the prototype version of the AN-94. The real world AN-94 was actually designed back in 1980, but it wasn’t produced until 1994. So it fits right in our Cold War timeline. So, maybe Treyarch will take some artistic liberties with that one in order to get this fan favorite gun into the mix.
Now, as for Warzone, I think it’s very possible we start seeing Florin blueprints that make Modern Warfare weapons closer to their Black Ops counterparts. Maybe we’ll see the Commando M4, or the M16A4, or maybe we’ll get some AKs and Galils, lying around on the ground. Or, we’ll get those FAMAS and FAL variants that actually look a lot like their Black Ops counterparts.
It’s honestly hard to tell right now which guns are going to be in Black Ops Cold War. And to be fair, the reveal is only a few days away or it’s already probably gone up as of the making of this video, so we’re not going to have to wait very long. But that is everything we know right now. In everything, I think we are heading towards at a very, very rapid rate.
Let me know if these guns excite you. What other guns would you like to see? I would love to see a teaser for the G11. Bring it back, bring it back. Hope you guys have a fantastic day. Drop a like, and I’ll see you soon.
